Joel was born on July 31, 1955, in Tampa, Florida, to Urlee Shack and Coretha P. Murray. His favorite activities were cooking, fishing, and being involved in community philanthropy and service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Urlee Shack and Coretha P. Murray; siblings, Sarah Nevada Sheppard, Isaiah Murray, Sr., and Isaiah Murray, Jr.; and grandmother, Bertha Burney.

He leaves precious memories with his companion, Lynnell Green; children, Joel Wayne Shack, Jr., Nicole L. Wise (Reeche Wise), Tiffany Shack, and Donte Shack; grandchildren, Santasia Cooper, NaJaeh Wise, RaZariyah Wise, Kingston Wise, Sir Shack, Zion Shack, and Zoelle Williams; god brother, Kevin Jones; sisters, Barbara Russell and Patricia Murray; niece, Naomi Murray; nephews, James I. Murray, Corey Murray, Maurice Murray, Isaiah Murray III, David Vickers, and Jeremy Lucas; cousins, Frank Hough and Curtis Woodard (Chet); companions children: Leondre, Keyshon, Der`Reona, and Aa`Riyah.

He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
