Joey 'Jo
Jo' Tanner Smith Koker
August 16, 1997 – April 6, 2024
Joey T. Smith Koker, a beloved brother, friend, and two-time West Virginia Alumni, passed away on April 6th, 2024, in Tampa, Florida. Joey's departure has left a void in those who knew him, which can only be filled by his infectious laughter, unwavering positivity, and unforgettable catchphrases.
Survived by his special sister, Yana Smith, family and friends who he considered family. Joey's presence in their lives was as vibrant as his personality. Known for his love of adventure, Joey could often be found gallivanting across the country with his friends, spreading joy and laughter wherever he roamed.
Joey was a master at making an ordinary night out unforgettable. He loved to indulge in drinks and delicious food and always made sure to keep his essentials close by. He was often seen with a martini in one hand and a juggling act of Aquaphor, lip gloss, and a phone charger in the other. Joey was always prepared for any situation.
If you ever heard the exuberant "YUUUP" or the infamous "That's tea!" drifting through the air, you knew Joey was nearby, ready to sprinkle his unique brand of humor and charm upon anyone lucky enough to cross his path.
Joey had a remarkable gift for making everyone he encountered feel special and valued. His infectious laughter and positive energy were like a beacon of light, illuminating even the darkest of days. In Joey's presence, one could never run out of reasons to smile or laugh heartily.
Although Joey is no longer with us physically, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those lucky enough to know him. Joey had a special way of touching people's hearts, and his memory will bring joy to everyone who knew him.
The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, any generous donations be made towards his GoFundMe page (https://gofund.me/bf687a3f). These contributions would greatly assist the family in covering the expenses and arrangements following his passing. Rest easy, dear Joey, our lives will never be the same. Your laughter will echo through eternity, and your spirit will forever brighten our lives. Your kindness and love will forever grip our hearts.
Sleep with the angels JoJo, "I love you more".
