Homegoing Services for Mr. John Bennett, Jr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016, will be held on Saturday, March 19th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Aaron Munford, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. John was born September 3, 1929 in Pelham, Georgia to the late John and Irene Bennett. He enjoyed watching numerous of sports. John accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Dr. T.W. Jenkins, New Hope M.B. Church. John was employed O'Falk Laundry and Lyke's Brothers as a butcher, where he retired from after many years. He was preceded in death by both parents and wife, Jeffery Bennett. He leaves to cherish his memories: 2 devoted and loving daughters, Diane B. Bennett-Fasion and Darlene D. Bennett; son, Clem Salter and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Skye A. Bennett-Fasion, Angie, Fredrick, Andreta and Brian Salter; great grandchildren, Aramis A. Robinson; special associates, Eddie Lee Williams, Sr., Evergreen Neal, Charles Kendall, Nathan Turner, Deloris Hunter, Edward James Todd; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the funeral ceremony.
