Obituary

Mr. John Christopher was born in Quitman, Georgia on April 10, 1948. His parents were the late Cleo Raines and Alfred Christopher. He was the youngest of eight in his family circle. John moved to Tampa at an early age, starting out as a truck driver before venturing out as a small business owner. He was a man who believed in community and family. John was a longstanding member of Christ United Methodist Church before he and his beloved wife, Geraldine, moved to minister at Tyer Temple United Methodist Church. He was deeply involved in the life of the church, serving on the United Methodist Men's group and both the Trustee and Administrative Boards. For over 30 years,

John ran his own landscaping business, building it from the ground up. His work wasn't just about taking care of lawns—it was about building something he could call his own while still giving back to his community. John's greatest joy was his family. Especially his six grandchildren, who were the light of his life - he cherished every opportunity to play, laugh, or talk with them. John was a steadfast friend and neighbor who could always be relied upon for help, no matter the task. His willingness to lend a hand, along with his warm smile and humble spirit, left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. John's contributions to his church were quiet but unwavering. He was quick to step up when and wherever there was a need, whether it was mowing the lawn, leading a committee, or supporting a fundraiser.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Ms. Cleo Raines and Alfred Christopher; sisters, Ada Mae Parker, Annie Ruth Fraizer, Louise Allen and brothers Eddie James Christopher and Joel Raines.

John leaves his blessed, blooming and loving memories to his wife, Geraldine Christopher; daughter, Consondra Christopher-Davis (son-in-law, Willie Davis), his son, Tony Christopher (daughter-in-law, Tanika Christopher); grandchildren, Najee Christopher, Chandon Davis, Samuel Christopher, Cameron Christopher, Camdyn Davis, and Aaralyn Christopher; brother, Robert Raines (sister-in-law, Polly Raines) and sister, Cleesther Davis; sister-in-law, Annette Kendrick; brothers-in-law, William Gloster and John Gloster; nieces, Tracy Chiverton, Lisa Raines, Wynette Raines and Sheila Raines; nephews, Michael Parker, Marshall Parker Jr., Thaddeus Raines, Steve Raines and Ronnie Fraizer; cousins Alice, Ursula and Rashad Raines; special friend, Pastor Florence Parra and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John's life touched so many, and his memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved him.
