Homegoing Celebration for Mr. John Nathaniel Dock, Jr. of Tampa, who passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015, peacefully at home surrounded by his family will be held Wednesday, October 14th, 6:30 p.m. at City Reach Church, 8405 N 11th Street, Rev. Timothy Wynn, pastor officiating. The interment will follow. John was born February 18, 1942 to the late John Nathaniel Dock, Sr. and Mariah Mitchell Dock in Coconut Grove, Florida. He served honorably, for eight years, in the United States Air Force. He worked many years in landscaping until retirement. John resided in the Tampa Bay area for over 50 years. He enjoyed cooking and playing with his grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memories with his devoted wife, Allene Brown Dock of 47 years; two sons, James Robert Preston Dock, Sr. (LaChone) and John Nathaniel Dock III (LaTonya); three brothers, Alonzo "Butch" Dock of Roanoke, VA, Robert "Bobby" Allen Dock of Brooklyn, New York and George Dock, Sr. (Elizabeth) of Orlando, FL; four sisters-in-law, Bebe Brown, Merlene Brown, Vickie Brown, Vera Mae Brown of Statesboro, GA and Corrine Brown of Wharton, MA; four brothers-in-law, Willie F. Brown (Stephanie), Bobby Brown, Donald Brown of Wharton, MA and James Brown (Olga) of Asheville, NC; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 8 god children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 13th from 4 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Wednesday for the service.
