John was born on February 20, 1939, in Georgetown, Guyana, to George Chilcott and Princess Lablack.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lablack; parents, George Chilcott and Princess Lablack; sisters, Patsy Lablack, Norma Chilcott, and Ella Elliot; brother, Courtney Chilcott; stepdaughters, Everena Stewart, Pamela Young, and Alexis Allison.

He leaves precious memories with his stepchildren, Desiree Allison, and Barbara Forte; grandchildren, Charles Waker, Jr., Steven Theus, Michelle Bradshaw, Rody Jones, Liza, Anthony, Joycelyn, Corey, Rondell, Javon Young, Junior, Sherwin, Dionne, Beatrice, Lloydetta, and Yannick; brother, Collin Chilcott (Joan); sister, Lalona Mack; nieces, Carlotta Elliot, Collen Harewood, Deborah Lowe, Alexis Chilcott, Collen Scott, and Sheryl Hodge; nephews, Anthony Mack, Colling Elliot, Leyland Elliot, and Courtney Chilcott; cousins, Hector Porter (Gloria) and Czerney Shory (Ann); and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
