John was born on April 12, 1948, in Greenwood, MS, to Eddie Lang Sr. and Bessie Mae Lang. He was raised in Greenwood, Mississippi, and was enrolled in the Greenwood County Public School System. John moved to Fort Myers, Florida, in 1969, and joined in holy matrimony to Rose Williams in 1977. He loved to cook, dance, go fishing and love to have a good time with his family and friends.
He enjoyed going out to eat and to bingo with his granddaughter Jakara and barbequing with his granddaughter Tanisha. He loved for his granddaughter Je'quita to be his DJ to get a good party started. John was full of life and laughter, and this is what the family will miss the most. He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, cousin, grandfather (granddaddy) who loved his family. John especially enjoyed his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Lang Sr., and Bessie Mae Lang; brothers, Eddie Lang Jr., and Robert Lang; sister, Janie Mae Lang; mother in-law, Reathie Bell Evans; father-in-law, Virgil Battle; brother-in-law, Ralph and Willie James Evans; and stepson, Arthur Lee Williams Jr.
He leaves precious memories with his wife, Rose Lang; children, Terry Lang, Johnetta Lang, Leslie Cooks (Byron), Barbara Thomas, Gwen Grant (Yohan) and Decobra Burton, (Kristian), Annie Lee (Keon), and Takia Bulerin; grandchildren, Tanisha Gordon (Philp), Percious Dixons, Rufus Thomas Jr., Latreace Thomas, Jakara Thomas, JeQuita Thomas, TonAja Alexander, Jahmari Burton, and King Perkins; a host of great-grandchildren; brothers, Willie Lang (Elma), Tacoma, WA, Jimmy Lang (Dorothy) and Curtis Lang, Greenwood, MS, Charlie James Lang (Evelyn), Columbia, SC, Harvey Lee Lang (Ceola), Greenwood, MS, and Johnny Lee Lang (Michele), Las Cruces, MN; sisters, Mary Cary and Annie Lang-Aldridge, Greenwood, MS, Earnestine Buchanan (Eddie B), Rockford, IL, Winnie Lang-Washington, San Antonio, TX, Aggie Barabin (Robert), Kyle, TX, and Gloria Lang-Smith (Jimmy), Greenwood, MS; sister-in-law, Lillie C.
