S/Sgt Wynn was born in Edenton, North Carolina, and was a resident of Tampa, Florida. He served in the armed forces and loved playing penuckle and upholstery. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother, Pearlie Halsey Gilliam and father, John Walter Wynn, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Ernestine Thomas Wynn; children, Rubie Wynn, Kenneth Junious, Cynthia Denise and husband, Hiram Jones, Brenda Faye and husband, Derek V. Walden, Sr.; grandchildren, Kenneth Junious, Jr, Adam Johnson, Sr, Derek V. Walden, Jr., and Devin M.
