Obituary

Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Johnnie Mae Bolden-Holloway of Tampa, FL who passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 will be held Saturday July 18th, 2:00 p.m. at Highland Church of Christ, 2800 N. Highland Ave, Tampa, FL 33602, Rev. Darryl Beasley, officiating. The internment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mrs. Johnnie Mae Bolden-Holloway was born Friday, December 10, 1937 in Saint Petersburg, Florida to the late Lillie Bell Bolden-Mosley and Ned Bolden. She was preceded in death by her brothers Willie (Bone Devil) Bolden, Nathaniel (Devil) Bolden Sr, great granddaughter Elana B. Poole, nephew Reginald (Greg) Bolden, and Lance Bolden. She attended Dunbar Elementary School, Carver Jr. High School and went on to graduate from Don Thompson Vocational High School in 1956. From there she pursued a career in nursing graduating from Brewster Vocational School. She began her career at Clara Frye Hospital and eventually retired from James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. She was married to the late Howard Holloway. She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Donna Holloway-Sanders; spiritual son, Rickey D. Smith; grandchildren, Tenesha D. Smith, Tiffany D. Smith, Allison R. Poole (Brian), Shandann C. White and Kwaku J. Smith; great grandchildren, James A. Peterson, Jayson D. Peterson, Jada R. Peterson, Ricaria T. Smith-Watson, Bria'na D. Peoples, Xavier O. Poole, Gabrial A. Poole, Nia R. Poole, Arayah R. Poole, Olivia A. Poole, and Christopher I. Pool;. sister in-law, Mercedes Bolden-Polite; nieces, Brenda Bolden-Hines, Marcia Bolden-Norflee, Terry Bolden and Avalinda Holloway; nephews, Nathaniel Bolden, Jr. Dwight Bolden, Michael Bolden, Larry (Teresa) Holloway, Ronald (Christina) Holloway, Tyrone (Susan) Bowers, Fred Harris, Calvin Bolden, Dwayne Bolden and Antonio Bolden; cousins, Abner Ford and Frank Revels; Donna's siblings, Daralyn Doby, Tyrone (Twila) Timmons, Willie (Tammy) Timmons, Osborne (Kim) Timmons. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 17th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
