Funeral Services for Mr. Johnnie Blount, Jr., who passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011, will be held Saturday, February 5th, 11:00 a.m., at New Hope M.B. Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Rev. T.W. Jenkins, pastor, with Rev. Joseph Sykes, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mr. Johnnie Blount, Jr. was born on June 19, 1956 in Tampa, Florida, to the parents of Shirley Claybrooks of Brooklyn, New York and Johnny (Bob) Blount. Johnnie graduated from Century H.S., in Talbotton, GA, in 1974. He joined the Navy for three years from June 1973-June 1976. Johnnie obtained two New York State certifications for counseling in 2010 from OTI, Brooklyn, NY. Johnnie had a passion for helping others, playing chess and barbecuing. His favorite quote was, "Oh boy." He was a faithful and dedicated employee for Odessey House, New York, NY. He was preceded in death by Johnny Frank and Bessie B. Carter, Ed and Annie Lee Blount.
