Johnny was born on January 20, 1964, in Tampa, Florida to Edmond Neves, Sr. and Anna Laura Neves. He was one of 8 children, there were 4 boys and 4 girls. Mr. Johnny Lee Neves attended the schools of Hillsborough County in Tampa, Florida. He was a devoted brother and uncle to several nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His favorite activities were basketball, football, music, and cookouts with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lorenzo Neves, Edmond Neves, Jr. and Eddie James Neves.

He leaves precious memories with his sisters, Veronica Neves-Harrell, Sylvia Joyce Neves, Vanessa Diane Neves, and Joyce Ann Neves; aunts, Willie Agnes Burton, and Joanna Fair (Ronald); nieces, Collette Neves, Sabrina Harrell (Ahmad), Akilah Neves, Brittany Boothe, Dynasty Thomas, and Precious Brown; nephews; Carlton Cord, Ricky Cord, William Louis Harrell, Anthony Neves, Antonio Williams, Jr., Antwaun Williams, Aaron Williams, Tavaris Sanders, Darrell Thomas, Jr., Delray Thomas, and Shai Lee; cousins, Margaret ONeal, and Cynthia Taylor; and a host of special friends, William Golden, Renard Dooley, and Shirley Strange.
