Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Joseph Maddox, Jr. of Tampa, who passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 will be held Saturday, June 6th, 11:00 a.m., The Rock Church of God by Faith, 4323 E. Henry Ave, Pastor James Williams with Pastor Alicia Thomas of Christ the Church, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Joseph Maddox, Jr. was born in Tampa, Florida on March 19, 1942 to Joseph and Olga (Norton) Maddox. Joseph graduated from Middleton Sr. High school and moved to New York City, which he loved. Joseph was drafted into the U.S. Military for two years. He was a faithful employee of the (IAC) Industrial Acoustics Company for over 35 years. He liked to fish, was an avid New York Jets fan and he loved watching sports. No matter what, you would always catch him with his Kangol hat on. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Olga N. Maddox; two brothers, Emanunel Norton and Norman Maddox; and one sister, Cynthia Jones. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with lifelong friend Ritzalita Harris, sons, Kevin Harris, John Harris and Darrell Harris; 3 grandchildren, Xavier, Zoe and Peyton; 1 devoted sister, Natalie M. Seigler; 2 aunts, Lavern N. Collins and Vivian G. Norton; 1 brother-in-law, Lee Jay Jones; 4 nephews, Darrell Jones, Sr. (Sharon), Kenneth W. Jones (Roberta), Norman T. Maddox (Shareen) and Bernard Sumes, Jr. (Latasha); 7 nieces, Pamela Lyles (Bobby), Lynne Maddox, Karen Reeves, Prudence Dortch (Randy), April Norton and Kristen Griffin (Victor); devoted niece, Tammy L. Jones (Elrod); dedicated cousins, Jacquelyn Mickens (Sam), Doria Moore and Victor Adkins; and a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
