Homegoing services for Mr. Joseph Saunders of Tampa who passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, will be held Saturday, April 5th, 11:00 a.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Joseph was born on March 9, 1930 in Monticello, Florida. Joseph enjoyed gardening, watching, football (favorite player Peyton Manning) and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Saunders; mother, Bessie Seabrooks; wife, Martha Saunders; brothers, Leroy Saunders, Willie James Saunders; sister, Bessie Mae Gough. He leaves to cherish his memories with his brother, Thomas Saunders and wife, Elzora; sisters-in-law; Alice Bowers and Annie Johnson; nieces, Diane Bowles, Cheryl Allen, Sonja Gough, Stephanie Sanders and Bernell Armstrong and Remelda Sanders; great- nieces, India Bryant, Jade Obi and Symona Gough; nephews, Willie James Saunders, Jr. and wife, Gwendolyn, Johnnie Sanders, Dorsey Sanders and Jerry Sanders; great-nephews, Samuel Bowles, Jr., Johnathan Allen, Bryant Bowles, Sherard Payne and Leonard Obi; a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins and, care taker, Barbara Little. The visitation will be held on Friday, April 4th, from 5-8 pm at Aikens Funeral Home. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Chapel on Saturday for the service.
