Josephine, nicknamed "Cookie", was born on May 28, 1937, in Tampa, FL., to Willie Sanders and Thomasina L. Cook. She was a collector of coins and dolls and enjoyed doing seek-n-find puzzles. She was devoted to her faith and was a church mother at the Agape Ministries COGIC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Watson; parents, Willie Sanders, and Thomasina Cook; son, Alfonso Watson; daughter, Elease Watson; and aunt, Willie Mae Jones.

She leaves precious memories with her children, Marilyn Watkins, Edward Watson, Debra Hanley (Les), Linda Watson-Howard (Thomas), Benita Watson, Walter Watson, Ben Watson Jr., and Lillie Watson; grandchildren, Antonio Watson, James T. Cook (Latoya Martin), Michael Cook (Kia), Devorrick Watson (Triana), Cornelious Watson, LaQuanda Watson, Andre Watson, Porschesha Watson, Josephine Howard, Thomas Howard III, Whitney Howard, Leon Grady Jr. (Shelia), Alfonso Watson Jr., De'Andre Watson, Alexis Watson, JaMecia Miller, Jahnee' Miller, Jalin Cook; great-grandchildren, Markia Watson, Rayonna Milton, Darien Evans Jr, Antonio Watson Jr., Laila King, Johny Austin, Jayla Howard, Ja'Veon Howard, D'Andre Buggs, Thomas O.
