Juanita L.
Fox-Harrell
March 23, 1942 – June 4, 2025
Juanita L. Fox-Harrell, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith. Born on March 23, 1942, in Fort Pierce, Florida, Juanita was the beloved daughter of Rufus N. Fox and Iris Knowles-Fox. An unwavering believer in Christ, she devoted herself to her church from a young age, inspiring those around her with her faith and kindness. Juanita graduated from Lincoln Park Academy in 1960 and soon enlisted in the U.S. Army as a 16A Target Tracker. During her service, amidst the Cuban Missile Crisis, she met her lifelong love, William P. Harrell Sr. She often recalled how he captured her heart with his homemade pies. Together, they welcomed two children, William P. Harrell Jr. and Cheryl D. Harrell, and built a life filled with joyful memories in Dallas, Texas. Following their separation, Juanita returned to the Tampa Bay area, where she spent the majority of her remaining years. For more than 30 years, Juanita dedicated herself to the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, exemplifying compassion and commitment in her work. Beyond her professional life, she found joy in reading The Holy Bible, caring for various exotic birds, and collecting clocks that marked the moments of her life.
Juanita was preceded in death by her father, Rufus N. Fox Sr.; her mother, Iris Knowles-Fox; her brothers, Edward B., Christopher C., Robert G., and Rufus N. Fox Jr.; and her sister, Ruth E. Fox.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, William P. Harrell Jr., (Deborah), her daughter, Cheryl D. Harrell, and her beloved grandchildren; Demonte L. Harrell, Amber L. Harrell, Lauren E. Cintron, Liani A. Harrell, and Josiah W. Harrell. She is also survived by her brother, Rev. Canon Dr. Ronald N. Fox, Sr., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will deeply miss her. Juanita L. Fox-Harrell's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her kindness and love will be remembered forever. A celebration of her life will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, located at 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Tampa, FL 33610.
