Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Juanita J. Gaines "Nita" of Tampa who passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014, will be held on Saturday, July 26th , 2:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Carmel AME Church, 4209 E. 34th Street, Rev. Ricky A. Polk, pastor with Rev. Joseph Sykes of Macedonia M.B. Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Juanita was born February 18, 1944 in Sylvania, Georgia to the late James Jaudon and Susie Mae Roberts Jaudon. She was a longtime resident of Tampa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willie J. Gaines, daughter, Lorene Gaines, son, Horace Gaines, Sr., brothers, William, James, Addrein, Ed, Jessie and Rudolph Jaudon, sister Rosella "Decosta" Jaudon and great grandchildren, Paul Mungin, Jr. and Kimora Ball. She leaves to cherish her precious memories daughter, Lashonda Gaines; grandchildren, Devette (L.J.), Dwight (Shavon), Alicia, Horace, Jr., Juanita L. and Kenneth Gaines and Steven, Jr. and Nakeeria McCalla; great grandchildren, Porsha Mungin, Danecia Borrow, Demetrius Smith II, Nayanna Callaway, Ravan Watson, Que Naria Gaines and Dwight Gaines, Jr. and Asiah and Steven McCalla III; brothers and sisters, Emma L. Jaudon and Mitchell Jaudon, both of Sylvania, GA, Charlie Jaudon (Gretchen), Atlanta, GA and Willie Paul Jaudon (Loranda), Queens, NY; sisters-in-law, Mammie Jaudon, Ridgeland, SC, Ruth Jaudon, Queens, NY and Mary Lee Jaudon, Sylvania, GA; goddaughters, Valerie Griffin and Andrea McFadden; special family and friends, Joseph Stewart (brother-in-law), Antonio Vereen (nephew), Ana Bracero and family, the McCalla, Canty, Fletcher, Wilson, Mitchell and Watson family's, Dot Worlds and Minnie Sturkes; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 25th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. to receive friends. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.
