Obituary

Homegoing services for Mrs. Julia Viola Gaulden Williams of 723 W. Green Street, who passed away, Monday, January 15, 2011, will be held Saturday, January 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity CME Church, 2401 N. Howard Ave., Rev. Joe L. Johnson, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Julia was born on July 17, 1926 in Flemington, Georgia to the late Samson and Eliza Butler Gaulden. Julia attended the public schools of Hinesville, Georgia. She married her late husband, Clifford Williams, Sr., in 1951 and they later relocated to Tampa, Florida in 1954. Julia dedicated most of her life to raising hr children and looking after her grandchildren. She enjoyed singing, reading her bible and spending time with her family. She was a kind, caring and thoughtful woman who shared love and wisdom with everyone she encountered. Her devoted husband, Clifford Williams, Sr., 7 brothers, Hessie, Robert, Clarence, Spencer, Kinston, Ollie and David; 3 sisters, Pearly Miller, Ruth Gaulden and Rosa Singleton, all preceded her in departing from this life. Mrs. Julia Viola Gaulden Williams leaves behind, 5 dedicated sons, Clifford Williams, Jr., Robert Williams (Lenora), Tommy Williams, Sr. (Phyllis), John Williams (Gloria) and Alton Williams (Jackie); 3 loving daughters, Lucy McNeil (Leo) of Brooklyn, NY, Altamese Williams (William) and Vivian Williams; 15 caring grandchildren, Akeel Taylor, Latitia McNeil of Brooklyn, NY, Robert Williams, Jr., of Texas, Reginald Williams, Danielle Dawkins, Quintin Hamilton, Ashley Williams, Tommy Williams, Jr., Nicole Williams, Tiffany Bell, John Williams, Jr., Joanne Bell, Ebony Strafford, Jerika Stafford and Dantevious Stafford; 23 beautiful great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Mamie Baker of Hinesville, GA; devoted nieces, Ida Baker and Burtha Windom both of Hinesville, GA, Hazel Baker of Newwark, NJ, Luvenia Singleton and Joyce Dawkins; devoted nephews, Thornell Floyd, Sam Singleton, Marvin Richardson and Arthur Lee Gaulden of Hinesville, GA and Robert Thomas; close family friends, Jim Coney, The Hamilton family, Nancy Williams and family, Martha Jones and family and Shirley Norman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 21st from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will also receive friends during these hours. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
