Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Julia H. Jackson of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday July 2, 2021. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday July 17,2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Rebirth M. B. Church, 1924 E. Comanche Ave. Rev. Zachery Hudson, pastor, Tampa, Florida, with Archbishop James H. Howell, pastor of Cathedral of Faith, Inc., presiding. The interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Mrs. Julia H. Jackson was a native of Augusta, Georgia and resided in Tampa, Florida. She was a graduate of Middleton High School, class of 1949 and a graduate of Trenton, New Jersey College, where she obtained her LPN. She was employed by the Trenton State Mental Health for over 25 years. Upon returning to Tampa, Florida she worked for several hospitals including Lily White Hospital, Clara Frye and ultimately retired from the Hillsborough County Hospital Mental Health ward after 25 years of service. Mrs. Julia H. Jackson was a faithful member of Holsey Temple CME Church for over 75 years. Mrs. Julia H. Jackson was preceded in death by her mother, Eloise Ivory; father, Mack Henry; husband, Sergeant 1st Class Henry W. Jackson Jr. She leaves to mourn her loving devoted daughter, Julia E. Jackson; son, Peter J. Jackson III (Shelia); grandsons, Julian R. Jackson (Dana) and James Jackson; granddaughters, Dr. Justina Jackson and Marlina Jackson; great-grandson 'King' Gabriel Jackson; sisters, Marion Gaines, Sallie Ann Russell of California and Carolyn Gaines of Atlanta, Georgia; nieces, Evelina Derrico (Evander) of Pompano Beach, Florida and Janice Cotton of Jacksonville, Florida and Mildred Phillips; nephews, Derrick Cotton (Denise) and Edward Emanuel (Bert); great-nieces, Vasceil Derico, Dr. Vontrice Derico and Vanette Derico; great nephews, Edward Derico and Ecander Derico III; godsons, Albert Coleman (Karey), Kevin Hammond and Mykal Hammond of Orlando, Florida; goddaughters, Tonya Hammond, Kathy Henry, Rev. Quincenia Bell, Lula Howell and Anna Williams; extended family, Elaine Safford, Brittany Safford, Betoria Watson, Justina Cox, Pam Greene, Freddie Hudson and Fontaine Marion; loving friends, Gloria Lewis, Julia Jackson Folks, Mae Alice Judge, Tracy Judge and Mona Judge, Helen Glymp and Florida Sentinel Family (Kaye Andrews Well and Blyth Andrews III); a host of loving friends and relatives.

The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 16th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. A fish fry will be held at 3415 Deleuil at 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. if anyone wishing to drop off any items drop off at 8012 Tierra Verde 33617 813 526-6994
