A Homegoing Graveside service for Mrs. Julia Louise Dunshee Roberts (99) of Tampa, Florida who passed away, Saturday, May 23, 2020, will be held Thursday, May 28th, 10:00 a.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr., pastor of St. John Progressive M.B. Church, officiating. The interment will follow the ceremony. Julia was born November 28, 1920 in Tampa, Florida, where she resided her entire life. She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County. She met and married the one and only love of her life, Joseph Roberts and together they raised 6 children. Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker and a true Christian. She was a faithful member and an honorary deaconess at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joseph 'Buddy' Roberts, parents, 7 siblings, granddaughter, Cherisse Massey and several nieces and nephews. Those left to cherish her legacy and beautiful memories are her 6 children: sons, Earl Roberts (Dolores) and Ralph Roberts (Pamela); daughters, Alice Roberts, Olivia Hamilton (Alfred), Verna Warren (Leonard) and Tia Rodriguez (Caleb); grandchildren, LaThorne Gallmon (Eric), Deena Kinsey, Earl Roberts, Jr., (Stephanie), Tressa Jones (Dwayne, Sr.), Derrick Latson (Diana), Jeffrey Barker (Phillice), Ryan Massey, LaTasha Oliver, Shayla Warren, Alfred Hamilton, Jr. (Keyatta), Caleb Rodriguez, Jr., Anissa Thomas (Jerry), Brandon Hamilton, Leonard Warren II (Shamiya), Netta Roberts and Ralph Roberts II; 35 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, faithful friends and neighbors; 2 godchildren, Ophelia Bolen and Robert Lamons. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27th (today) from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The friends are welcomed to come and greet the family following the CDC guidelines. The family and friends will meet at the graveside for the funeral ceremony.
