Kalvina Neshawn
Cummings
January 20, 1988 – October 10, 2025
Kalvina Neshawn Cummings was born January 20, 1988, lovingly known as "Vina" and "Sexy Plus," was the fifth child born to Darryl Cummings, Sr. and Andrea Norton Cummings. Kalvina publicly professed her faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she began her walk in grace and service. A proud graduate of Middleton High School's Class of 2006, Kalvina carried her Tiger spirit into every chapter of her life—with grace, humor, and fierce devotion. She pursued higher education at Hillsborough Community College and dedicated 14 years of service to Quest Diagnostics as a Pre-Analytical Tech III. Her commitment to excellence and quiet strength made her a trusted presence in the lab and beyond. Kalvina's heart was anchored in care. She lovingly supported her father and grandmother through their health journeys, and in doing so, discovered her own calling in the healthcare field. She earned her CNA certification and served with compassion at Home Instead Senior Care. Ever the determined soul, she was enrolled to begin the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at Erwin Technical College—ready to deepen her impact in the lives of others. Kalvina found joy in the simple and sacred: she loved cooking soulful meals, singing from the heart, getting lost in music, and curling up with a good book. Her laughter filled rooms, her playlists told stories, and her kitchen was a place of comfort and connection. She also cherished traveling and spending time with her beloved niece and nephews. Her presence was radiant, her love unwavering, and her legacy—one of care, strength, and soulful service—will live on in every life she touched.
Kalvina was preceded in death by her father, Darryl Cummings, Sr.; sister, Anesha Nicole Cummings; brother, Carlos Reneto Cummings; grandparents, Melvin Norton, Vivian Guzman Norton, and Lola Mae Torres; great-grandmother, Vivian Guzman; aunts, Vivian Norton Smith and Mabel Cotton; uncle, Richard Deloach; great uncles, aunts, and cousins; godmother, Janice Marie Cochran.
