Obituary

The Homegoing Services for Mr. KC Bell of Los Angeles, California formerly of Tampa, who passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 will be held on Tuesday, April 26th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. Blvd, Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. The interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Mr. KC Bell was born, August 13, 1954, in Reynolds, Georgia to the parents of Joe (Garmon) and Mildred Bell. KC was the fourth of five children of Joe and Mildred Bell. He was educated in the Hillsborough County School System. After graduation from high school, he attended and received a certificate for Electrical and Plumbing from the Job Corp. In March, 1978, KC enlisted in the United States Army. The Army gave him the opportunity to travel to many exciting placesthroughout the world. He obtained the rank of Sergeant before leaving the active army, continuing on in the Army Reserves for a while. KC decided to move to the LA area after leaving the military, where he had a wife. The marriage only lasted a brief time.Long Beach eventually became his home, where his sister Lille Bell lived. After moving to Long Beach, he received his Associate's Degree from Long Beach City College in Long Beach, California. His early vocational was working in his learned trades he obtained from the Job Corp. He later became a teacher with the LA County Unified School district, working with handicapped and troubled children. He performed this work, receiving many accolades for his outstanding work, until his health caused him to retire.KC was the 'jack of all trades.' He was adventurous and challenging. He loved the Lord. Also one of his many talents was drawing. KC was an awesome artist and was also very active in sports. He had a fond interest in playing the guitar, in his younger years. The family as a whole will always remember KC for his wisdom and inspiring words: wanting us to be best that we could in life.He wanted us to set goals and achieve them. He had a strong passion against the greed and corruption in the world.He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred & Garmon Bell, his brother Hinton Bell and nephew James Anthony Wilder. He leaves to cherish his memories his sisters, Willie Mae Wilder and Lillie Stegall (John); his brother, Garmon Bell (Cindy) ; two children, Lorenzo Floyd and Elijah Gomez; three grandchildren, Jada Floyd, Lorenzo Floyd, Jr. and Niya Floyd; nieces, Mary Ann Wilder, Barbara Baity, Francina McAfee (Ceaph), Sonja Bullard, Fawna Rencher, Shonquisha Engram (Eddie), Khadijah Ranger, Asha Baity, Sykeriah Wilder, Chardonnae Wilder, Iliana Engram; nephews, Albert Wilder, Sr., Willie Frank Wilder, Malcolm McCullough (Rhonda), Kiante McAfee, Albert Wilder, Jr. Kaleb Stegall, Eddie Engram and Shawn Engram and a host of other sorrowing aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. If anyone's name was omitted, we sincerely apologize as this was not done intentionally. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Monday, April 25th, from 4-7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Tuesday for the service.
