A homegoing celebration for Mr. Kenneth Warren Nelson of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 will be held Saturday, April 29th, 3:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Pastor Delbert Means, officiating. The interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Kenneth was born in New York City, New York on April 29, 1939 to the late Jesse and Margaret I. Nelson. He enjoyed watching sports and movies and also going on cruises. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Darrell T. Nelson; brother, Reginald Nelson; sister, Clementine Headen. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his wife, Shirley Ann Nelson; children, Paris W. Nelson (Sharon), Nadine E. Green (Carl), Darren J. Nelson (Cookie), Susan B. Nelson (Nick), Kenneth J. Nelson (Alicia), Carla E. Means (Delbert), Reginald Nelson, Mister Nelson, April Nelson and Willie Dismuke, Jr.; 31 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 9 nieces; 2 nephews; brother-in-law, James Rutledge (Judy); sisters-in-law, Nancy Tillman, Evelyn Wright and Angela Hicks (James); lifelong friends, G-Smart and Sonny; a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 28th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
