Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Larry Doby Johnson of Tampa, FL who passed away May 26, 2013 will be held Saturday June 1, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Bible Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, 8718 N 46th St ., with Rev. Earl Mason, Sr., pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mr. Larry Doby Johnson was born August 17, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Hozzie Johnson and Elizabeth Murry. Larry was dearly loved and supported by his parents Elizabeth and Early Lee Murry. He was a member of Bible Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, a former Major League Baseball player and educator. He was preceded in death by parents, Hozzie Johnson and Elizabeth Murry and brother, Hosea Johnson. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with wife, Sheila Johnson; children, Joshua Johnson and Joia Johnson; father, Early Lee Murry; brother, Hosea Johnson; sisters, Betty Mack and Kathy May; aunt, Ethel; nieces, Monique Gibson and Nicole Mack; nephews, William Crockett II and Jelani Mack; cousins, William Johnson and Yvonne Gibson; family friends, Maalike Moore Thomas, Wolfgang Mueller and all team mates and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held Friday at Aikens Funeral Home May 31st from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
