Larry Jones was born August 10, 1958, in Tampa, Florida, to the late Riley Ross, Jr. and Lillie Mae Jones. He attended schools in Hillsborough County and graduated from King High School. At the time of his passing, Larry worked as a forklift operator for Toufayan Bakery in Plant City. Larry lived a very colorful life, he enjoyed fishing, dancing, and immersed himself in learning about politics, music, and movies. Larry departed this life Thursday, February 22, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Larry Jones was a loving partner, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, great-uncle, and a great friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A. J. Jones, Sr. and Lillie Mae Jones; father, Riley Ross, Jr.; brothers, Jonathan Nappier and Manny Ross; sister, Joy Sutherland-Foushee; grandmother, Lillie "Ma Lillie" Williams; aunts, Mamie B. Gallmon, Ella Marie Horne, Mary Frances Underwood, and Deborah Clarke; uncle, James Lester Hosey.

He leaves behind many who will cherish great and loving memories including a loving partner, Linda Crawford; step-children, Antwana Mathis, Deon Irvin, Latina Bush, Maurice Irvin, Salina Bush,; step-grandchild, Kareem Wright; sisters: Matilda Renee Payne, Joan Nappier, Patricia Ann Ross, Vernell McKay (Roy), Diana Ross, Samanthia Byrd and JaMealyah Ross; brothers, James Sirmons (Lillie), Harold Nappier, A. J. Jones (Tynae), Jr., Michael Alexander (Loretha), Larry Hampton, Tommy Jones, Chisther Jones (Natasha); aunts, Cora Yopp, Mae Johnson (Calvin), Betty Burnett, Dorothy Mae Ross Smith, Ruby Dean Ross Spencer (John), Rosie Nell Issac (Ross), Mary Ann Ross Simmons and Annie Pearl Ross DeLoach (Lee); uncles, Wiley Jones, Michael Hosey, Harvey Lee Ross, Sr. (Loria) , Eddie C.
