Obituary

Homegoing service for Mrs. LaTonya Nellon-Wilson of Apollo Beach, Florida who passed away on January 6, 2011 will be held Saturday, January 15th, 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Cathedral COGIC, Pastor Jesse Smalley, II with Supt. Clethen Sutton of Miracle Temple Church of God In Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. LaTonya was born to a loving mother, Barbara Nellon and father, Alphonso Alford. LaTonya was blessed to have two fathers, Mr. Cecil Goodman (Michelle) raised her and she affectionately called him "Daddy". She brought joy, happiness and peace into their lives and the lives of others. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County. She continued her education and was certified as a Nursing Assistant at Concord Institute. LaTonya was united in marriage to Christopher Wilson on May 12, 1995 in Tampa. In 2001, LaTonya joined Miracle Temple C.O.G.I.C., Tampa, Florida and was an active member. LaTonya served as West Central District Hospitality and MT Hospitality as President. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Channie and Stanford Nellon and brother-in-law, Fredrick Polite. LaTonya leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Christopher Wilson; 6 children, Demetrice Nellon, Leonard, III, Sherrell and Terrell Limehouse, Christina Wilson and Ashanti Grier; 3 grandchildren, Demetrice Nellon, Jr., Jeramiah and Sa'riyah Limehouse; 5 sisters, Catrina Goodman, Colette Smith (Damon), Shanell Jackson, Asia and Cecila Goodman; 2 brothers, Christopher Jones (Lana) and Deeal Alford (Bethany); mother-in-law, Constance (Ms. Connie) Polite; 5 sisters-in-law, Gloria Parham, Elaine Elson (George), Regina Polite Warren (Carl), Gail Johnson and Lisa Pride; 1 brother-in-law, Robert Pride (Vernette); aunts, Daisy Norton, Frances Clark, Janice Boozy, Charlotte Nellon, Chestine Goodman, Emma Harris and Lestine Davenport (Charles); uncles, Stanford Nellon, Jr., Johnnie, Jerry B., Robert, John, Jr., Larry Joe and Jerry A. Goodman; nieces and nephews, Erica, Goodman, Era'Daiza and Kawandra Mitchell, Tyree Jackson, DaCobi Smith, Patrick Shaw, Jerome Parham, Jr. Giselle Mitchell, Fredrica, Tony, Andre and Fredrick Polite, Jr., Carl, Jr. and Carla Warren, Keith Howard, Corey and Marcus Polite, Jessica and Tyler Ford, Zakiyah, Zaki and Keonea Grier, Erica and Eric Pride, and Samantha and Justin Alford; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends; special friends, Leonard Limehouse, Sr., Mother Pearl Sutton and LaTarsha Melvin; special cousin, Tiffany Alford. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
