Lawrence Eldridge Grant was born on November 13, 1944, in Tampa FL., to Ozell Grant and Bertha Rithie. Lawrence Grant will be remembered as a man whose life was defined by skill, curiosity, and an enduring love for all things automotive. A devoted automobile mechanic for more than 20 years, Lawrence took great pride in his work, earning respect for his knowledge, precision, and unwavering work ethic. There was little he could not fix, build, or improve with his hands. Outside of work, Lawrence found joy, in his love for his dogs, his "fur-family" Rebate, Rico, Rita, and Louie as they were like family to him and were his greatest companions.

Lawrence enjoyed attending car shows, building, working on cars, and following NASCAR racing. He also cherished time spent fishing, finding peace and satisfaction in the quiet moments outdoors. Whether under the hood of a car or by the water's edge, Lawrence approached life with patience and focus. Known for his sharp sense of humor, Lawrence could bring laughter to any room. He was wise, analytical, and deeply thoughtful, often offering insight or solutions when others were unsure. His courage, resourcefulness and handy nature made him someone family and friends relied on and admired. Lawrence leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and fondly remembered for his strength of character, his generous spirit, and the passion he carried throughout his life.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Laretha Grant; parents, Ozell Grant and Bertha Rithie; sons, Larry and Lance Grant; daughter, Lamia Grant Cromartie-Bogan.

He is survived by his loving son, Antonio Carr of NY; 8 grandchildren; along with a host of great-grandchildren; longtime friend, Elaine Bridges, along with a host family and friends.
