Obituary

Mr. Lawrence Joyner affectionately known as "Poochie" was born on March 26, 1950, to the late Joshua Joyner and Ethel Davis. Lawrence was a native of Tampa, Florida where he attended the public schools of Hillsborough County. Lawrence served a short time in the Navy. He was employed with Tampa Park until his health failed. Poochie was the life of the party in his younger years. He loved his family dearly. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. The Legend! Lifes journey ended on October 27, 2023.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joshua Joyner and Ethel Davis; brothers, Joshua Joyner Jr. and David Joyner; grandparents, Pink Davis, Francina Rothwell Davis, Henry and Rachel Joyner; niece, Angela Gunn; aunts, Rosa Lee Lillie, Annie Lee Parker, Lucille Joyner, Luverne Joyner and Henrietta Brittenham; uncles, Buster Davis, Jimmy Davis, Henry Davis, Cecil Davis, Doc Davis, Allen Davis and Samuel Joyner.

He leaves to cherish memories of him are two devoted sisters, Alberta Miller (Betty) and Joyce Johnson; brothers, Samuel Joyner (Martha) and Arthur Pride; daughters, Lauretta Joyner (Ignatius), Lakisha Joyner Rhodes (Elijah), and Kisa Goshea; grandchildren, Erieal Slaughter, Julicia Holmes, Antonio Gonzalez, Willie Grace Jr., Alfred Davis Jr., Ashlyn Davis, America Robinson Nkendrya, DNario and Mahrlei; greatgrandchildren, DYari, DaLonni, DKari and Jahmeir; nieces, Valerie Brown, Concetta Cobb (Demetrius), Twila Shine, Lawanda Joyner (Ronald), Jennifer Patterson, Misty Downer (John), Twanda Sapp (Jimmy), Danderia Johns (Ryan), LaDaiza Jolly, Twanda Sureller (Zack), Shane Pride and Rechalle; nephews, Walter Johnson (Trina), David Joyner, Antonio Joyner, Adrian Joyner (Candace) and Bobby Lattimore (Lisa), and a host of great nieces, great nephews who assisted with his care, Winfred Jr., Ernest Jr. and Eron. Special thanks to his Lillie and McCray family, Central Park, Tampa Park and the Clair Mel family.
