Homegoing services for Mrs. Lena Roberta Conyers of Tampa, who passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012, will be held on Saturday, June 9th, 2:00 p.m. at First at Baptist Church of Palm River, 5414 Palm River Road, with Rev. Cornelius Pate, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Lena was born on September 25, 1924 in Mulberry, Florida. Lena moved to Tampa, from Mulberry, Fl at a very young age and attended Booker T. Washington, Jr. High School years later. She met and married Willie Conyers, Sr. They moved their family to progress Village where they were long time residents until her death. She loved gardening and shopping, her specialty was giving to others, and her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents; Lott and Roberta Boone; husband, Willie Conyers, Sr.; son, Leroy Conyers; sister, Cornelia Williams; brothers, Sam Rayfield, Jack and James Boone; and granddaughter, Phoebe Miller. She leaves to cherish her memories with; devoted daughters and caretakers, Barbara Donaldson, Claudine Blue (Leroy) and Mary Miller (Raymond) of Havana, Fl; sons, Albert Mention (Grace) of Jamaica, NY; Thomas Mention, Jr., Willie Conyers, Jr. of Havana, Fl and Stanford Telfair of Jacksonville, Fl; granddaughters, Tanya Sulton (Tony), Tammy Freeman(Adam) of Chicago; Rhonda Johnson of Tampa, Twanda Green (Eric), Valerie Mention of Queens, NY, Lakeshia and Latoya Miller, Daphney Conyers, St. Petersburg, Fl; grandsons, Gary Lewis (Misean), Robert Donaldson III (Frances), Andre Mention (Regina) of Jamaica, NY and Reggie Telefair of Jacksonville; 5 nieces, Vanderlyn Jones, Angelion Williams, Jackie Davis and Shirley Little of North Carolina and Norma Green of Jamaica, NY; and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, cousins, neighbors and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 8th, from 5-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Church on Saturday for the service at 1:45 p.m.
