Homegoing services for Sr. Mother Lennie Mae King of Tampa, who passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013, will be held on Saturday, May 25th, 11:00 a.m. at The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob, 10150 Joe Ebert Rd, Seffner, FL, with Adv. Pres. Elder Salem Montgomery, officiating. Senior Mother King was born on July 11, 1924 in Meriwether County, Georgia to the late Presiding Elder John Jean Simeon and the late Advanced Senior Mother Amanda (Scott) Suchia. She was one of 7 children. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, the 5 Suchia sisters had a very special bond with each other. Before she moved to Seffner, Mother King resided in Bethlehem where she worked in Jacob's Dwelling Nursing home as a nursing assistant. She also took care of the brother and sister dormitories. While doing her duties, Father J. Daniel Israel J.O.G. asked her to move down to Seffner, FL to serve as his housekeeper and she was willing and delighted to do the task. For the past 20 years, she lived in the House of Bethel in Seffner, FL and held the position until her health declined. Mother King enjoyed singing the songs of Zion. She would sing them with so much grace and energy. One of her favorite songs was "I Love the Lord". Also, she enjoyed laughter so much to the point where she would have to hit you because it was a part of her joy. She leaves to cherish her memories with; children, Sr., Mother Anna Ruth Smith (Sr. Deacon George) , Mother Abigail Duerson (Pres. Elder Donald), Mrs. Esther Mary Butts (George), Herman Wesley King, Jr., Ezel King, Sr. Mother Eunice Edwards (Brother Johnathan), Mrs. Candace Lee Johnson (Larry), Mr. John Wesley King, Mrs. Deborah Jean Murphy (Donnie), Brother Cecil King, Mrs. Cecilia Jones, Elder James Alfred King (Mother Raymona), Pres. Elder Stephen King (Mother Barbara), Mr. Michael Anthony King (Louise), and Mother Lennie; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, May 24th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the House of Jacob on Saturday for the service.
