Mr. Leo Jones, affectionately nicknamed "LJ, was born on September 3, 1953 in Abbeville, Alabama to Ernest, Sr. and Laney Jones. He graduated from Abbeville High School and went on to serve in the US Army. He was a machine operator in the logging industry for over twenty years. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest, Sr. and Laney Jones; brothers, Ernest Jones, Jr. and Nathaniel Jones; sisters, Rosie Lee Brown, Essie Thomas, Mary Chisolm, and Bernice Brooks; granddaughter, Brittany Jones; and grandsons, Katwon and Khalif Jones.
He leaves precious memories with his wife, Mae Jones; children, Stephanie Jones, Kal Jones (Tula), Kengie Jones, Crystal Garner, and Jonathan Jones (Renee); stepson, Marlon Thomas; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Moses Jones; and sisters, Hattie McAllister, Annie Lou Dozier, and Ruthie Sampson (Doug); and a host of nieces and nephews.
