Leon Gatlin, Jr. was born January 10, 1977, in Sumter, South Carolina to Leon and Cornelia Gatlin. Leon enjoyed many activities including fishing, football (his favorite team, Pittsburg Steelers) cooking, boxing, coaching, and a love of seafood.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Hattie Mae and Sinclair; aunt Leslie; and uncle, George Gatlin.

He leaves to cherish his memories children, Leon, Quinlan, Azaria, Sarai, Kudaa, Imani and Damarcus Gatlin, and Jeremaya Chappell; parents, Leon Gatlin, Cornelia Gatlin Lynn, and stepfather, Walter Lynn, Sr.; brother, Antonio Sinclair Gatlin (Melinda); wife, stepbrother, Walter Lynn, Jr., and stepsister, Ashley Lynn; aunts, Cassandra House (Daryl), Abra Chambers, Priscilla Terrell, and Brenda Gatlin; uncle, Melvin Gatlin; cousins, Rychard, Dennis, Jr., Shameka, Erica (Eric), Natasha, Tara, Keke, Tesera, Machello and Natasha Gatlin, and a host of many other cousins; special friends and loved ones, Reva, Mario Gee, and Meeka Brooks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
