A homegoing celebration for Mr. Leonard D. Hart of Tampa, Florida who passed away Saturday July 2, 2016 will be held Saturday, July 9th, 2:00 p.m. at New Hope M.B. Church, 3005 E. Ellicott St., Min. James Richardson, officiating. The interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Leonard Hart was born to the late Luther and Odessa Hart, on September 29, 1937, in Marion, South Carolina. He was educated in the public schools of Latta, South Carolina. At an early age, he joined New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, in Tampa, Florida. He served on the usher board number two, and the deacons board. Leonard retired as a truck driver for John Morrell Meat Company, after twenty years of service. Later, he joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board, and was active member of the seasoned Citizens Ministry. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Luther and Odessa Hart; 2 brothers, Louis Spann, Sr. and Henry Hart; 2 grandsons, Chris Edwards and Arnold Cousin; Jr.; son, Rayford Johnson and daughter, Sandra Cousin. Leonard leaves to mourn: his devoted wife of 51 years, Arrie L Hart; daughter, Linda Edwards, Brooklyn, New York.; son, Anthony Johnson, Tampa. FL.; three grandsons, Derrick Lebron, Brooklyn, New York, Derrick (Sylvia) Cousin and Terrance Cousin, all of Tampa, FL; five granddaughters, April N. Lebron, Brooklyn, New York, Pamela Cousin, Tampa, FL Angela, Alaina and Alyssa Johnson all of Atlanta, GA.; nine great grandchildren; sister Emma Lee Birch Lakeland, FL; brother, Frank Hart, Tampa, FL.; sister-in-law, Adell Spann of South Carolina; six nephews, seven nieces and a special niece, Mary 'Teenie' Smith, Adel, GA; and a host of cousins, friends, his New Hope Missionary Baptist Church family; special thanks to Melech Hospice House of Temple Terrace. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 8th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
