Obituary

Homegoing services for Mr. Leroy Royal Davis of Tampa, who passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011, will be held on Friday, December 30th, 2:00 p.m. at New Smyrna Full Gospel Church, 5015 N. 17th Street, with Bishop W.L. Lee, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Leroy was born in Baker Hill, Alabama and attended public schools in Henry County, Alabama. He relocated to Tampa in 1962. He worked as a cement finisher for Leroy Shepard for many years and several others local construction companies until his retirement. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age and was baptized at Union Grove Church, Eufaula, Alabama. He was a quiet, loving and caring man who enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Lee Roy and Mary Bird Davis; brothers, Thomas F. Davis, Albert Davis, Earl L. Davis and George R. Davis; sister, Pearl Davis Clark and daughter, Glory Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory with Mozell; children, Krystal Davis, Keldrian Davis, Darren Royal (Patricia), Mary Robinson (Willie), Willie Byrd, Nelson Williams (Alice) and L.C. Williams; a host of grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; aunt, Willia Dean Craddock, daughter-in-law, Earlene Byrd; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Davis, Della Mae Davis and Annie Murrel Davis; brother-in-law, Steve Clark; special friends, Willie James Watson and Roy Wilkerson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, December 29th from 4-7 p.m. The friends and family are asked to meet at the church for the service on Friday, December 30th.
