Leroy
Richardson
January 13, 1963 – May 15, 2024
A private service was held for Mr. Leroy "Snoop" Richardson, Jr., a cherished soul known fondly as Leroy to his friends and family, departed this life on May 15, 2024, in his hometown of Tampa, FL. Born on January 13, 1963, to the late Leroy Henry Richardson, Sr. and Dolly Mae Richardson, Leroy's charismatic presence and loving nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. A true son of Tampa, Leroy attended King High School, where he began to cultivate his myriad of interests, ranging from sports to the arts. Leroy's passion for football, baseball, and basketball was evident to anyone who shared a game with him, either on the field or as he cheered from the sidelines. His love for music was just as profound, with hip-hop tunes often providing the soundtrack to his life's most memorable moments. Leroy's creative spirit shone brightly through his guitar playing, his evocative drawings, and his skillful maneuvers around a pool table. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Leroy will remember him as a loving and kind individual, whose creative flair was matched only by his generous spirit. His laughter and jovial demeanor were contagious, and he had a unique ability to light up a room with his presence. Leroy's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the enduring strength of familial bonds. Leroy is survived by a loving family that includes his son, Leroy Richardson III, who filled his father's life with immense pride and joy. He leaves behind his devoted siblings, Ricky Richardson (Angie), Jeff Richardson (Marie), Doris Buchanan (Alex), and JoAnn Williams, along with his adored nieces and nephews, Brianna, Brittany, and Nikki Williams; Alex Buchanan, Jr.; Ricky Richardson, Jr.; Broderick Buchanan, Jr.; and Mario Buchanan. Leroy will also be deeply missed by his special friend, Donna, who brought tremendous happiness and companionship to his life. His legacy will continue to thrive within a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were all an integral part of his journey. Preceding him in death was a beloved brother whose memory Leroy held close to his heart, along with his grandparents and a host of family members who had passed on before him. Their influence on his life was profound, and their values and traditions are ones that Leroy carried with him every day. Leroy's life was a beautiful narrative of love, kinship, and creativity. He navigated the world with a kind heart and an open mind, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. His legacy is not only in the lives he touched but also in the love he so freely gave. A celebration of Leroy's life will be held on a date to be announced, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears, honoring a man who was so much to so many. Leroy "Snoop" Richardson, Jr.'s memory will forever be a beacon of love and kindness, guiding those he left behind toward living a life as full and vibrant as the one he so joyfully led. As we say goodbye to Leroy, we are comforted by the thought that his spirit will continue to inspire and watch over us, just as he always did in life. May we all strive to embody the qualities that Leroy exemplified: love, kindness, and creativity, making the world a better place, one smile at a time. Rest in peace, dear Leroy; your legacy will never be forgotten.
