Obituary

Letha A. Silas Martin was born to the parentage of Joe Nathan Hobley and Luenez Hobley on May 8, 1949, in Quincy, Florida. At an early age, she and her family relocated to Tampa, Florida. She professed her belief in Christ at an early age. Letha was an active member of New Hope M.B. Church. Her favorite saying was "Itll be alright." Mrs. Silas Martin attended Hillsborough County Schools and graduated from Middleton High School in 1967. Letha received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, and her Mathematics Masters Degree from the University of South Florida. Letha was a great math teacher for 27 years in Hillsborough County (Sligh Jr. High, Blake Sr. High, Young Jr. High, and Hillsborough High School). She also served as a resource math teacher for various schools. Letha taught for six years in Clayton County, Georgia. She loved teaching and tutoring mathematical concepts to her students. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, walking her dog, Pepper and taking care of the beautiful flowers in her yard.

Preceding her in death: parents Joe Nathan Hobley and Luenez Bush Hobley; sister, Vera Mae Hobley-Ferguson; brother, Joe Franklin Hobley; nephew, William Ferguson; nieces, Tracie L. Dawkins, and Tiffany Hobley; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lindsey (Lynn), and Michael Silas; grandchildren, Dominique Lindsey, Devaughn Lindsey, Deonna Lindsey, and Denon Lindsey; great-grandchild, DaVion Lindsey; brother, Rev. Aaron Hobley, Sr. (Geneva); brothers-in-law, Kenneth Martin (Debra), and Wayne Martin (Melissa); sisters-in-law, Rosemary Hobley, and Wanda Montgomery (Charles);uncle, Rev. Alvin Bush of Quincy FL.; nieces, Laura Ferguson, Janice Hobley, Yolanda Young (Robert), and Sonja Hobley; nephews, Anthony Bowers, Alvin Hobley (Tanya), Aaron Hobley Jr. (Jacqueline), and Joe Franklin Hobley Jr.; cousins, Mary Ann Hobley, Annette Williams, Johnnie Lee Lowe (Elouise), Mary Williams, Martha Dick, Kimberly Crews (Charles), Keith Bush, Stanley Bush, Rev.
