A homegoing celebration for Mr. Levan Burney of Seffner, Florida who passed away, Saturday, June 11, 2016, will be held on Saturday, June 18th, 2:00 p.m. at Re-Birth M.B. Church, 1924 E. Comanche Ave., Rev. Zachary Hudson, pastor officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Levan Burney was born in Morriston, Florida on July 25, 1932 and moved to Tampa, Florida at an early age. He was educated in the public schools of Levy County. Mr. Burney was employed as a longshoreman working out of local 1402 until retirement where he still has many many friends. Levan enjoyed fishing and sitting in front of the laundry matt socializing with his friends. He became a member of Re-Birth M.B. Church in 1999 where he enjoyed worshipping with his church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levan and Flora Burney; brother, James; sister, Lucy and son, Robbie. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and dedicated companion, Rutha Fribley; children, Dexter (Beverly), Linda, Elizabeth (Ronald), Kayvette, Phyllis (Jerry), Levan, Gary and Tony; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; godchildren, Mary, Kim and Gloria; sisters, Lula Bennefield and Othelia Burney; sister-in-law, Willie Mae Burney; brother-in-law, Wilson 'Sonny' Morris (Judy); daughter-in-law, Janet Neal; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Pop, Tony and James. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, Friday June 17th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
