May 19, 1967 – September 30, 2021
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Levi Jones of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, will be held on Saturday, October 16th, 11:00 a.m. at Allen Temple AME Church, 2101 Lowe St., Pastor Rev. Glenn Dames, with Rev. Antonio Hawkins, officiating Pastor of Exciting Faith Alive Church. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Levi Jones Jr. was a native of Tampa, Florida and was born on May 19, 1967. He accepted the Lord as his Savior and was faithful in his spiritual walk at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr., Pastor until his passing. Levi was the owner of E & J Party Services. He was also a faithful member of International Free and Accepted Modern Masons, Inc. and Order of the Eastern Star. Levi was surely one of a kind. No one could have asked for a better husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Levi also enjoyed watching his favorite team Alabama Crimson Tide "Roll Tide", fishing, studying the bible with his Masonic brothers and being with his family. He was always the life of the party and he loved dancing. He always ensured that everyone had a good time. He was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back or the food off his plate. He also loved being able to help others. He was preceded in death by, mother, Irene Holmes; father, Levi Jones Sr., father-in-law, Roy Edwards; grandmothers, Mary Jones and Rocelia Coleman Holmes; brother-in-law, Roy Edwards, Jr. He leaves to cherish loving memories with the love of his life, Royale Edwards-Jones; children; Demetrius Baker, Tyesha Jones, Robyn Dixon, Quanisha Poole, Levi Jones, III, Leo Jones and Lavedia Jones; godchildren; Montray Osley, JaMayia Denson, Jessica Boyd; raised as his own, Calvin Camel, Rokiera Miller and Ashley Miller; mom and pop, James and Elnora Jones Nunn; brother, Anthony Holmes; siblings, Marilyn (Henry), Deborah (Don), Shedrick (Sharon), Willie (Nadine) and David (Gloria); special cousins, Sheila Jones and Anthony Jones (Sherone); mother-in-law, Alethia Pudden Mahan; aunts, Nancy Evelyn Jones, Betty Montgomery (Horace), Yvonne Ceparano (Paul), Faye Holmes, Anita Riley (Michael), Delores Edwards (Rollie); special nephew and niece, Antwan and Tanisha; grandchildren; his whole heart Zyran, Demetria, Demetrius Jr., Tatiyanna, Denajah, ZyArria, Denise, Nion, Angel, Tobias, Trea Jore, Tommie, Steven Jr, Syon, Safaraee, Makeda, Semari; cousins, Frederick, Calvin, Debra, Dewey, Charlotte, Gregory, Lil AJ, Shea, Harold, PIP, Larry, Chuck, Carl and Renee; he also leaves cherishing memories with his lodge, Pride of West Tampa #1; a host of other family and friends, Floreen Lawson, Patricia Robinson, Tony Williams, James Wade, Randy Mosley, Elaine Bridges, Freddie Edwards and Andrew Harris.
The visitation will be held on Friday, October 15th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Allen Temple AME Church. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.
