Homegoing Service for Mrs. Lillie Louise Moore Campbell will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Rev. Dr. Evan Burrows, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. The soul and spirit of Lillie Louise Moore Campbell departed on September 2, 2012. She was born in Brooks County, Georgia on January 25, 1932 to the late Avery and Bessie Jordan Moore. Lillie was the first of two children, a cherished younger sister, Dorothy Jean Moore Singletary, lives in Merrit Island, Florida. Lillie attended elementary school in Georgia. Her family later moved to Fort Pierce, Florida where she joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Lillie graduated from Lincoln Park Academy in Fort Pierce Florida in 1951. After high school she attended Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida where she met Willie T. Campbell Sr. On June 2, 1952 they married in Tallahassee, Florida. Lillie graduated from Florida A & M University in 1955. After graduating from college she accepted her first teaching assignment in Moore Haven, Florida. The family moved to Tampa in 1968 and in that same year they joined First Baptist Church of College Hill where she became an active member. She later organized a local chapter of the Red Hatters and she was a long time member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Lillie's professional career continued in Tampa where she was an educator at Clair Mel Elementary and Riverview Elementary until her retirement in 1990. She and Willie were married 58 years until his death on May 10, 2010. The couple had eight children, Brenda Asberry (Booker) of Riverview, Florida, Jacqueline Rutledge (Fred) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Willie Timothy Campbell Jr. (Sharon) of Brandon, Florida; Jennifer Renee Robinson (Bishop) of Aurora, Colorado; Windell Campbell (Pam) of Dover, Florida; Sheewayne Sandoval (Jose) of Atlanta, Georgia, Wonjen Bagley (William) of Andover, Massachusetts and Worris Todd Campbell who preceded her in death. She also found comfort and joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren; grandchildren: Keynun Campbell (Damisha), Venus Robinson, Sheriss Crosskey (Johnny), Quiana Lewis (Robert), Terrel Robinson, Christopher Asberry, Fred Rutledge III, Tamara Campbell-Mims (Calvin), Andres Sandoval (Amy), Ronald Lewis, Justin Campbell, Kristopher Lewis, Ebony Campbell, Sydney Bagley, Aurdric Sandoval and Myles Bagley. Great grandchildren: Zaniah Dorn, Justyce Lewis, Calvin Mims, Robert Dorn, Leah Robinson, Acayla Asberry, Lillie Renee Willis, Harper Crosskey, Mia Sandoval, Milik Lewis, Kelsey Campbell and Collin Campbell. She will be deeply missed by a host of family and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 7th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive guest from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service.
