Homegoing services for Mrs. Lillie Reen Neal Griffin, who passed away in Tampa, Florida on Wednesday evening, October 17, 2012 at 7:10 p.m. will be held on Saturday, October 27th, 11:00 a.m. at Exciting Central Baptist Church, 2923 N. Tampa Street with Pastor Jeffrey Singletary, officiating. She was born on December 31, 1931 in Sneads, Florida (Jackson County) to Green Neal and Mary Jane Pollock Langston. She was a member of the Exciting Central Baptist Church of Tampa. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Earliest Van Griffin, Sr. in 1957. She was also preceded in death by her mother, father, 5 brothers and 7 sisters. She leaves to cherish precious memories: 4 children, Ollie Diane Spires (Marion) of Marianna, FL and Marilyn Griffin Matthiew of Tampa, FL, Earliest Van Griffin, Jr., ( Margaret) " Peggy" of Woodbridge, VA and Glynn David Griffin (Jonica) of Tampa, FL; 4 grand daughters, Lori Anne White-Staley (Rickey) of Tampa, FL, Erica Matthiew-Stephens (Craig) of Centre, AL, Cpt. Andrea Matthiew, Afghanistan and Josie Simone Griffin of Tampa, FL; 7 great grandchildren, Caleb Diaz, Jhordan Stephens, Maleah Stephens, Jackson Wilkins, Craig Stephens Jr., Kennedy Staley and Grant Staley; 4 sisters, Odistine McGriff of Bascom, FL, Ozell Moore of Donalsonville, GA, Barbara Williams (Hardy) of Tampa, FL and Vonistine Williams (Rev. James) of Mount Dora, FL; 9 sisters-in-law, Mary Neal-Davis of Tampa, FL, Eva Griffin of Malone, FL, Emma Griffin of Marianna, FL, Hilda Russ of Malone, FL, Carolyn Daniels (Rev. Will) of Bascom, FL, Daisy Curry of Bascom, FL, Eva Mitchell of Philadelphia, PA and Bessie Hunter of Philadelphia, PA;1 brother-in-law, Elder H. R. Griffin, Jr. (Alberta) of Tallahassee, FL; special nieces and nephews, Mary Curry of Bascom, FL, Martha Williams of Tampa, FL, Johnnell Reese (Bernard) , Edward Jennings (Frances) and Alice Huff, all of Tampa, FL; goddaughters, Gloria Live, Teresa Walker and Tradia Clarke, all of Tampa, FL. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 26th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
