A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Lillie Mae Lovett of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Tuesday January 7, 2020, will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 2:00 p.m., New Bethel Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2914 E. North Bay Street, Pastor Reginal T. Webb, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Lovett was born on April 26, 1927 in Youngstown, Florida to the late George and Nellie Bowers. She was a member of New Bethel PMB Church for 60+ years, where she served as the Sunday school teacher for class #8 for many years and she was also a faithful deaconess. She worked for Tampa General Hospital for 25 years, where she retired from and became an avid reader, jigsaw puzzle master, and loved to knit. Mrs. Lovett was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lovett, Jr.; her parents, George and Nellie Bowers; four brothers, Dea. George W., Rev. Robert J., Rev. John H. and Dea. James E. Bowers; two sisters, Louise Bell and Kathleen Sims. Mrs. Lovett was the last of her immediate family to pass. She leaves to cherish loving memories of her: two daughters, Betty Jenkins (Will) and Nellie Bell; grandchildren, Devara Hart (James), Rhonda Sims Bolton (James, Jr.), Emanuel Sims, Jr (Stacy), Adrian Connor, Malcolm Bell (Toria), James Roland Bell, Janese Rolanda Bell Henson (Matt), and Joseph C. Bell II.; great grandchildren, Destiny Hicks, Faith Hendrix, Charles Bellamy, Jr., Jeremiah, Emalee and Eliana Sims, Zamani Aziz, Khairi, Zuhri, Zahara, Jalen, Jaxyn, and Jordyn Bell, Cydney Glover, Amari, Asia and Joseph C. Bell III; great-great granddaughter, Riley Peterson; and a host of other family members and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday January 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
