A memorial service for Mrs. Lillie Mae Myers of Tampa who passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 will be held Friday, April 18th at 4:00 p.m., Aikens Funeral Home; 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Rev. Dr. Henry Lyons, officiating. Interment will be in Jordan Cemetery, Barnwell, South Carolina. Mrs. Lillie Mae Myers was born June 8, 1929 to the late Joe Hunter and Lula Wallace in Barnwell, South Carolina. She loved watching movies, reading, singing and laughing with family and friends. Lillie Mae was a longtime member of the former Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she diligently served for over 35 years. Later in life, she transferred her membership to the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, where she served until her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Annie Mae Hunter and Emma Hunter; daughter, Lisa Myers and son-in-law, Jim Greene. She leaves to cherish her memories with children, Ethel Mae Frances Greene, Rosa Simpkins (Reginald Rogers), Nancy Dennis (Jethro Dennis), Ronnie Myers (Mary Myers), Rickey Myers (Sabrina Myers), Mamie Carpenter (Rodrick Carpenter) and Robert Myers (Jane Moore); 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a host of close relatives and friends. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Friday for the service.
