Linda affectionately nicknamed, "Slim" was born on June 30, 1952, in Tampa, Florida, to Solom and Katie Bell Grooms.

She completed her formal education in Hillsborough County Public Schools at Howard W. Blake High School. Linda was a retired woman that loved to clean. She worked hard to provide for her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ann Grooms; husband, James Maloy; and sister, Patricia Grooms.

She leaves precious memories with her children, Bridgette Maloy (Stanley), Terrance Malloy (Ariel), Taurus Gadsden (Shengire), Rashone Mills, and Jivaro Johnson (Dallibetn); siblings, Gail Grooms, Reginald Hopkins (Vern), Sharon Freshwater (Cliffton), Tony, Vicky, and Jason Grooms, Stephanie Henderson (Darryl), Debra Johnson, Archie Young, and Christine Young; grandchildren, Jabarca Malloy (Airielle), Terrance Malloy, Jr., Sonovia Reed, Tearia Malloy (Osmond), Dominique Maloy, Temonto Malloy, Reshi Butler, Torrance Malloy, Terrance Malloy, III, Katina Graham, Breshi Butler, Elijah Maloy, Sy Johnson, Rameshia Mills, Rashanna Mills, Rashone Jr. Mills, Kayla Mills, Mesia Mills, Taurus Gadsden, Jr., Elijah Simmons, Taraji Gadsden, Trinity Gadsden, Tyyauna Johnson, Adalis Johnson Estevez, Kaz Johnson Estevez, Javier Johnson Estevez, Terra Malloy, Janiya Malloy, and Trinity Malloy; 35 great-grandchildren; nieces, Wondra (Nicole) Keaira, Sharicka, and Derica; nephews, Emmitt (Kita), Keith Wilson (Mandy), Clifton, Jr., Jabari, Dominic, Reggie, Jason, Eduarod, and Emario; and friends, Cathy Pressle and Gail Little.
