Homegoing Services for Mrs. Linda Renee Taggett Martin of Tampa, Florida who passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, will be held Saturday, March 19th, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Port Tampa, 8306 Interbay Blvd., Rev. Roy Young, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Linda was born June 27, 1963 in Tampa, Florida to the late Henry and Ollie Mae Taggett. She was affectionately known as 'Baby Girl and Bow-legs'. Linda attended Hillsborough County Schools, graduating from T. R. Robinson High School, class of 1981. She was a member of Disciples of Christ Ministry for over 11 years, Rev. Roy L. Young, Jr., pastor. 'Baby Girl' had a passion for event planning, her staff and team 'Showers are Us'; enjoyed cooking at her restaurant, 'Irreplaceable Catering'; and loved to quench your thirst with her famous lemonade stand, 'Miamar Lemonade'. She also had a passion for interior decorating, she was a 'Jill of all trades'. Most of all she was a loving woman who cared about everyone. She would give you the shirt off her back to keep you warm. She was free-hearted, if you needed Linda was going to give it. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Rene Allen, Sr.; aunt Lillie Mae Starks and her pet, Jayda Kizz. Linda leaves to cherish her memory: a loving and devoted husband, Anthony Martin; 2 beloved children, Tamira Taggett (fianc, Marcus Graham), Jacksonville, FL and Kalif Martin, Sr., (fiance, Jasmine Henley); 3 grandchildren, Tamia Taggett, Kalif Martin, Jr. and Tamar Graham; 3 sisters, Patricia Stevens, Kim Richardson (James), and Karen Prather (Thomas); 4 brothers, Robert Ashwood (Pat), Bruce Taggett (fianc, Tasha), Melvin Taggett (Teresa), Augusta, GA and Howard Taggett; 2 aunts, Cheryl Jackson and Carolyn Stallings; 3 uncles, Lee and Clarence Allen and Matthem Starks; 11 nephews, Charles Stevens (Liquisha), Rene Allen, Jr. (Shantwan), Markell Lofton (Sandra), Resha Wilson (Nicole), George Daniel, Jr.(Voncile), Alezeam Salter, Christopher Keese, Sr.(Amanda), Dontae Taggett (Lakedra), Augusta, GA, Devontae Lee (Arlesia), Namman Allen and Rakolya Morrison, Augusta, GA; 7 nieces, Alesia Denson (Nolan) of Arizona, Duwod Salter, Jamine Turner (Melvin), Chikera Hurst (Ted), Augusta, GA, Brittany 1, Brittany 2 and Tiffany; 23 great nieces, Tianna, Kiara, Kianna, Rehana, Jada, Jasmine, Neva'eh, Nieve, Nivea, Christini, Je'niyah, Ja'nea, Jaleah, Avzana, Alana, Vanessa, Ja'niyah, Ryann, Ja'maria, Ania, Iyanla, Zoe and Zhane; 14 great nephews, Eric Allen, Christopher, Jr., George III, Douglas, Xzavier, Delontae, Kingston, Nolan, Jr. Charles, Jr., Zion, Zhi, Zackhi, Kavonte, Jamir and Byron; best friends, Michelle, Monica Ivory and Lori Shank; special friends, Sonia Hendrickson (Danny), Oscar Wilson, Tereka Hepburn (Mark), Sabrina Hill, Jessica Roach, Jermain Dillon, Tia Evans, Ella Prather, Linda Cotney, Erika Smith (Jermaine), Joyce Anderson, Ruben Doster and Benjamin Mckever (Rosland); goddaughter, Nahja; special thanks to the Wilson family and Rene Allen, Jr. (Shantwan); and a host of many more loved ones. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the funeral ceremony.
