Homegoing services for Sister Lizzie Mae Covington who passed away on Monday, April 6, 2009, will be held Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m., Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 4008 C. P. Epps Dr., Pastor C. P. Epps, officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, April 13th, at Sunset Memory Gardens at 10:00 a.m. Sis. Lizzie Mae Covington was a member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church; she was a faithful member of the Number 1 Choir. She retired from Dixie Linen Company after 22 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents: father, Fosher Wright; mother, Mamie Allen; sisters, Gladys Allen, Mary Kirkland, Martha Moore; brother, Lougene Aikens; nephews, Bobby Allen, James Aikens and Carl Aikens. She leaves to cherish her loving and dedicated sister, Hattie Parker; brother, George Aikens, Jr. (Katie), Augusta, GA; aunts, Lorene Covington (Marion), Alberta Allen, Augusta, GA, Julia Allen, Ft. Myers, FL; goddaughters, April Cox, Rachel, Ashley and Alicia Hall and Andrea Mitchell; godsons, Jontavias Mitchell and Mario Covington, Jr.; nieces, Mary Mouling, Marian Farmer (Daughtry), Patricia Johnson (Bryant), Theresa Evans, Marvenia Cox, Hattie Mae Carr, Amy Jackson, Katherine Burns, Linda Aikens, Marie Aikens, Mary Ann Lee, April Aikens and Pam Aikens; nephews, Eric Parker (Candi), Scotty Parker (Mickey), Marion Covington, Jr. (Melissa), Alonza Covington (Vickie), Jeff Moore (Rita), Elmore Kirkland, Lamont Moore, Reginald Kirkland, Shaunecey Moore, Donald Aikens, Kenneth Aikens, Fred Aikens, Melvin Johnson, Robert Morning, Mario Covington, Sr. and George Aikens; special friends, Ms. Mamie, Catherine Everett, Mattie Ash, Cynthia Lester, Rev. C.P. Epps (Lillian), Deacon & Sister Jimmie Smith and Nelson White; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. The funeral cortege will arrange from Aikens Funeral Home east parking lot.
