October 4, 1951 – August 16, 2025
Lola Mae Calhoun was born in Ashford, Alabama to Willis and Josie Jackson. She was a resident of Tampa, FL, for over 50 years. She attended Cottonwood High School in Cottonwood, AL where she received her high school diploma. Lola accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of Bible-Based Church, Temple Terrace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Josie Jackson; one sister, Josie L. Mills; son, King David Calhoun, III; and niece, Ebonie Jackson.
Lola leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 40 plus years, King David Calhoun, Jr.; sons, Nicholas Calhoun of Tampa, FL, Deron Roberson (Ronesha) of Tampa, FL, Aaron Roberson (Verlande) of Tampa, FL, Michael Sanks of Tampa, FL, and Kevis Allen of Tampa, FL; one daughter, Lanett Newton (Garland) of Plant City, FL; grandchildren, Lanisha Calhoun, Tyrell Schuler, Mya Roberson, Preston Roberson, Carson Roberson, Deron Roberson (DT), Christian Roberson, Elijah Dunbar; five great-grandchildren; six sisters, Nora Arnold of Tampa, FL, Marie Snelling of Tampa, FL, Clytie Baldwin (Freddy) of Dothan, AL, Helen Trawick of Cottonwood, AL, Jean Hairston of Cottonwood, AL, and Dorothy Brown (Howard) of Dothan, AL; two brothers, Willis Jackson (Ann) of Missouri, and James Jackson (Zella) of Dothan, AL. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, foster children, and friends.
