The Homegoing Services for Mrs. Lottie Ruth Howard, of 3801 N. 22nd St. Apt. B, who passed away, Monday, January 12, 2009, will be held Saturday, January 17th, 11:00 a.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd., with Trial Elder Wanda Wilson, officiating. Interment will take place in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Howard was born November 11, 1932 in Bainbridge, GA to the late Lish and Lucille Gaines. The neighborhood mom, as she was known to many, was affiliated with the House of God Church and took pleasure in helping everyone that she could. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; sister, Mary Sherman; brother-in-law, Clarence Sherman; nephew, Antonio Coleman; and niece, Tara Nicole Thompson. She leaves to cherish fond memories with: her children, William Howard, Ella Grubbs and husband, Charles, Clyde Howard and wife, Carolyn, Frank Howard and wife, Margie and Clarence Howard; grandchildren, Latisha Spain and husband, Ray, Keisha Howard, Natasha Howard, Justin Howard, Jessica Howard, Catherine Grubbs, Keith Howard, Terry Howard and Laron Howard; great-grandchildren, Zanelia and T.J. Howard; brother, Ulysses Gaines; sisters, Isabella Daniels, Ellenor Coleman, Susie Harris and husband, Willie; aunts, Ruth Bonner of New York City and Elsie Paul of Georgia; nieces, Mary Ann Windham and husband, Greg, Christy Sherman, Delbra Brim, Tammy Brim, Valinda Coleman, Michelle, Trinishia, Metosha Godwin, Tess Godwin, Sylvia Lockwood and Cynthia M. Donnell; nephews, Gregory Sherman, Clarence Sherman, Kenneth Sherman, Oscar Sherman and wife, Endera, James Harris, Sr., James Harris, Jr., Danny, Leroy Brim, Jr. and wife, Frankie, Michael Brim and wife, Desiree, Johnny L. Brim and wife, Vivian, Andrea Colman and wife, Gail, Ronald Coleman, Harold Hunter, Trent Coleman and Richard Lockwood and wife, Rosa; special friends, Agnes Mackey, Jannie Louise, Clarence and Mary Cason, Doris Cannon and Lorene Tillman; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home Friday (today) from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The funeral cortege will arrange from 4627 Webster St. Friends are asked to assemble at the chapel approximately 10:45 a.m. Saturday for the service.
