Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Lou Ethel Sealy Wilson of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016, will be held on Saturday, January 23rd, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Bishop Jerome Alexander, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Have Memorial Park Cemetery. Lou was born in Crystal River, Florida. She moved to Tampa, Florida where she met the love of her life, Johnny Wilson. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She opened her home on the motto of if you needed a place to lay your head her doors were always open and you were invited to eat a home cooked meal. She had a heart that was pure as a gold. She was a devoted member of Evening Star and Galilee M.B. Church, where she participated in different choir groups. She formed her own group called the Silver Letts. Lou was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Gentry; brothers, Frank Simms and Freddie Pennington. Lou leaves to cherish her precious memories with her mother, Martha Taylor; devoted husband, Johnny Wilson; loving children, Pervis Sealy, Sr. (Sheila), Ronnie Williams (Sherron), Paulette Washington (Britten), Jihad Amos Muhammad (Renee), Sherman Williams, Alisha Well (Matthew), Cheryl Dukes, James Pool, Steve Jackson, Iesha Davenport and Sandra Tillsdale; and a host of grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Barton Johnson (Wallace), Yvonne Reed, Rosa Garvin (Jimmy), Betty Sharpe and Carrie Dukes; brothers, Morris Dukes, Cleve Simms (Debbie) Herman Jones and Ernest Allen; father-in-law, Oscar Knight; sisters-in-law, Mary Rollins (Johnny), Vickie Davis (Henry) and Flora B. Wilson; brothers-in-law, Ernest Knight (Sheila) and Steve Knight; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 22nd from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
