A Homegoing Service for Mr. Louis G. Benton of Tampa, Florida who passed away on, Tuesday, January 14, 2020, will be held Saturday, January 25th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Dr. Glenn B. Dames, pastor of Allen Temple AME Church, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Louis was born on February 19, 1946 in Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter and brother. Louis attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Middleton Senior High School in 1964. He was a member of Allen Temple AME Church. He was well known around town and enjoyed working on cars and detailing them. Louis transitioned from this earthly home to be with our Lord and Savior. He leaves to cherish his memories with his wife, Linda Salter Benton; daughters, Rashonda Benton, Shanakia Benton and Lisa Hubbard; son, Louis Major; sister, Lavern Benton Logan; sister-in-law, Bridget Gainey; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; special friends, Helen Wright Young, Desiree' Jackson, William Jackson II, Janice Collier (Troy), Lynette Buchanan (Allen) and Anita Jordan, administrator and staff of Ruby's Residential Care. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 24th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
