Obituary

Homegoing service for Bro. Louis Jackson, of 4402 Tuna Drive, who passed away on May 19, 2010, will be held on Saturday, May 29th, at 12:00 p.m., Pleasant Chapel A.M.E. Church, 2615 East Chipco Street, Tampa, 33605, Rev. Esther Eva, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Bro. Jackson was born in Ocala, Florida and attended the Marion County Public Schools. He joined the US Army in 1961 and served for 7 years, serving one year in Vietnam as a Platoon Sergeant. He continued his education at Tampa Technician Institute, receiving a degree in Architectural Drafting. Louis was the owner and operator of Jackson Enterprises, Inc. for over 15 years. Bro. Jackson was a member of Pleasant Chapel A.M.E. Church for over 20 years, where he was a member of the choir, Past Superintendent of the Church School and Pro-Tem of the Trustee Board. He was preceded in death by his father, James Jackson and sister, Eleanor Beauford. He leaves to cherish his memory: loving and devoted wife, Peggy Jackson; two sons, Louis A. Jackson (Ruby) and Christopher Jackson and wife, Angela; granddaughters, Arianna and Marrisa Hornsby; mother, Bernice Jackson; brothers, James E. Jackson, Jr. and wife, Christine, Larrie D. Jackson and Valerie, Leslie B. Jackson and wife, Sandra, Gregory Jackson and wife, Harritte, Zarah "Lee Andrew" Jackson and Isaac "Ike" Jackson; brother-in-law, James Beauford; sisters, Helen Mitchell, Pauline Bacon and husband, Isaiah, Carolyn Jackson, Roxieann Jackson, Cheryl Leonard and husband, Robin and Valerie Schlosser; uncle, Rupert "Daniel" Jackson and Arie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and sorrowing friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
