Homegoing services for Mr. Louis of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013, will be held Saturday, February 2nd at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel. Louis served in the U.S. Army and retired as an SSG in the Aviation Branch of the service. "Old Soldiers Never Die, they just fade away." He retired from the Jos Schlitz/Pabst/ Stroh Brewing Company after 18 years as a safety supervisor. His Hobbies were fishing, drawing and carpentry. Louis also authored a biography of his military and personal life. He was preceded in death by biological parents, Louis C. and Alberta Porter; adopted parents, Garrett Sr., and Gertrude Armwood and son, Ronald Porter. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with wife, Annie J. Porter of 60 years; children, Brenda Neptune and husband Dean Neptune, Pamela Johnson and husband Fabian Johnson and Patricia Porter; grandchildren, Felichia Porter, Anthony Porter and wife Maria Porter, Niechia Lucas and husband William Lucas, Alechia Johnson, Kevin Neptune and Kimberly Sistrunk; great grandchildren, Briyanna Pierce, Bethel Pierce, Anthony Porter, Noah Porter, Isaiah Porter, William Lucas III, Jordan Porter and Ariyanna Johnson; sister, Gladys Ray; nieces, Rosemary McCloud, Deborah Correa, Rose Terry and Amanda Ray; nephews, Dallas Austin, John Farmer, Vernon Mond, Johnny Armwood and wife Michelle, Garrett Armwood, Herman Ray and Ronnie Ray; close friends, Wilhelmina Baker, Luther Johnson and Leroy Mitchell and a host of family and friends not mentioned but never forgotton. The memorial service will be held Saturday, February 2nd at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
